    Aye. The only thing I can think of is if you have nothing dependent on you (kids, family, etc), move near Tralee, and suplement you income with some pizza delivery, or something.

    Just reading through this thread , I just got an IT Degree and IT Support is one of the areas I am looking to get into,Am I crazy?!

    Not really. Alot of the support centre's list "3rd level degree" as a minimum :/

    I would advise strongly to stay away from IT support, as sum one mentioned earlier in the thread when you are in IT support you are the lowest of the low on the corporate ladder. You put up with abuse all day from people who don't know what they are talking about and generally get treated like sh**. A good piece of advice I got a few years back was if you are not making money/generating new business for a company you will never earn the big bucks or get the respect you deserve and I think it's very apt when it comes to IT.

    If I could start again in IT I would definitely go down the development route even if you are not to found of programming after a few years you can move on to Project management, Business development etc. If you stick at the programming you can earn good money (as you are developing products that are core to a company's business or actually are the company's business) or move towards being a Technical Architect etc. Support is not a good area to move into IMHO.
