Has anyone been having trouble getting broadband in Co. Kerry. I've heard that there are a few local providers but I can't seem to find anyone for where i need - it's between Killorglin and Beaufort

Check the Broadband forum, Comp->Net/Comms->Broadband. There are a few stickies that should help you locate a provider.

permanet is the carrier he asked about...I think, there may be some really small ones too.

Thanks guys. I've had a look about, there's KerBB and Permanet and Irish Broadband. Irish Broadband seem to have the best deals at the mo so I think I'll go with them. ;)

you could get shítty overpriced, asthetically displeasing, underspecced, intrusive, ugly, slow, low-capped satellite from a second-rate "ISP" like NetWhizKid did. He's from kerry I believe.

Where abouts exactly is your location ? bear in mind you will need line of sight if you go for some of the wireless providers... i live not far from Killorglin myself, but on the Glenbeigh side..

I've done a far bit of research myself for our area, so maybe able to help point you in the right direction.

I think Irish Broadband only really cover the Killarney area, Kerry Broadband and Permanet maybe be better options for you

apparently Irish Broadband have another mast in the Mish area. It's not for myself it's for a friend of mine who despite being computer illiterate wants broadband! They're just in coverage - I ordered last week, she's being installed this week - pretty impressive, and the install was free... the same can't be said for the others.

Hopefully will get it all set up. Will keep you informed.
