    BEATTY: At 1pm on Wednesday, June 28, at 3pm and 4pm on Sunday, July 2 and 1pm on Wednesday, July 5, there are guided 'Public Tours' of the Chester Beatty Library, Dublin Castle, D2.

    LIBRARY: A multicultural summer programme for children and young people will be celebrated in Dublin City libraries throughout July and August. Highlights will include workshops, dance and music from across the world. Admission to all events is free but booking may be necessary. For more details tel 6744843.

    BOOKS: The July First Saturday Book Fair in aid of the Shankill Old Folks Association and Meals on Wheels takes place on July 1 between 10am and 1pm in Shankill Old Folks Association Day Centre, Lower Road, Shankill - all welcome.

    AUTHOR: Author Carlo Gébler will visit Raheny Library, Howth Road, on Thursday, June 29, at 6.30pm. Admission is free and all are welcome. Carlo Gébler has written countless reviews, articles and short stories for most national publications, as well as many play-scripts and even a libretto for an opera.     BOOKS: A book sale will take place at the Old Courthouse, Howth, on Saturday and Sunday, July 1 and 2, from 10am to 6pm. Admission is free and all are welcome.

    WRITERS: The Donnycarney Community and Youth Centre is hosting a weekly writers’ group in the library. The group is ideal for people who prefer writing in a small group situation and want to share their thoughts and ideas. The group is facilitated by Elizabeth on Mondays from 10.30am-1pm.
