Hey all,

I've been wondering whats the average amount of coffee people drink a day?, Personally I would have around 3 cups at least a day. I've been curious how people manage to have 6 or so plus a day and still sleep at night.

I drink about 5-6 a day and sleep like a baby.

I have 2 before 9.30, another around 11, another after lunch, another around now, and one or two at home in the evening.

hmm don't really drink coffee, but when i'm in college i'd have about 2 cups of tea a day.

I actually hate waking up and not having a cup first thing in the morning. I take strong tablets for hayfever every day that makes me tired as hell so the coffee balances it out nicely

Don't drink coffee, just a single solitary cup of tea for me at midday, monday to friday.

It's just not the same inviting someone to "grab a tea" though, is it?

Depends really, I mostly drink coffee when i'm in the house, probably about 3 now, I tried to cut it down, but I love coffee and none of that cappucino crap!

Probably *too* much.
But we drink so much dr.Peppers and Coke / pepsi that each of us probably has an overall caffeine intake of about 12 cups of coffee.

I once drank 8 cups of coffee in work after q'ing all nite for munster tickets. Ill tell you the shakes got to me after about the sixth cup..... never again Ill go home to my bed next time....:D

Since I gave up drinking soda, I drink at least 6 cups of coffee a day.
But we drink half caffienated at home so we're not bouncing off walls!
We buy whole bean. We're coffee snobs!:D But friends come to our house to drink our coffee!!!

Well I'm not really into coffee. It really depends, if it's in the morning and I'm completely nakered I'd have one but I'm more of a tea person. I could easily drink 7-10 mugs of tea a day!

Once touched 12 espressos in one day. Still did't perk up for that evening exam. Had to give up goffee as it got the point where i wasn't getting from less than a super strenght latte(sp?) from Café Sól(i.e. 6 shots of espresso)

Jesus i had some headaches for a few days when i gave up

I have about 6 cups of tea every day. Each up is 75% tea, 25% milk, nil sugar (and thats important, otherwise I'd overdose on sugar)

On an average day I'd probably have two coffees and two cups of tea.
Why does it have to be one or the other?

I heard or read somewhere that there is more caffeine in tea than coffee, and tbh I really dont get how tea could be better for you, caffeine aside, what's in coffee that makes it bad for you?I drink about 10 mugs a day on average and have never had any ill affects. I must admit though that all the coffee I drink is instant unless I buy one somewhere. Even though we have a coffee machine at home I have never been able to make a decent brew.:(

It's not just the number of java cups per day, but also the strength of the brew that matters too. I normally drink 2 per day, but they are at a coffeehouse, and if I slip and drink 3, you'll find me on the ceiling like the vampire in the Underworld film.:eek:
