    Hi There,

    I currently have 1 gb of http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=316234

and i am going to buy another gig to increase gaming experience.
Unfortunately this exact ram only comes in 2gb packs now. (i tried other sites too) i think that 3 gb would be over the top.

There is 2x512 ozc there with same 2-3-3-6 timings
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=316233 but different supply voltages.

Also http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=316000 timing 2-3-2-5 looks nice but I understand that mixing rams with different timings can have bad effect.
    I'm new to pimping pc's

If someone could recommend the best 1 gb match for my current one i would be very gratefull.

    Thanks Kindly

    My Rig -
    AMD Athlon 3700+ 2.2ghz
1 gb ocz XTC pc3200 gold
    POV 7900gt 256 mb
    MSI Nforce 4 motherboard
    Maxtor 300gb

You can mix and match DIMM's as long as you know the exact timings of the slower DIMM and alter the bios accordingly, leaving it up to the SPD (auto config by reading the timings from the DIMM) can often have unpredictable results with DIMM's that have different timings.

Go with the OCZ 2-3-3-6 to make life easier for yourself if the timings are the same, the higher DIMM voltage on the module you have is for only when you overclock 2.6v is the standard voltage for all DDR DIMM's.

[P.S This thread is more appropriate the computer forum]

Simply put, You Ram will only run as fast as the slowest of the two! So if you got 2-2-2-5 and 2-4-3-6 it will run at the speed of the slowest one and you will lose prof!

But ya ram dont cos as much as it used to! buy your self some nice Ocz 2.2.2.5 2GB and you be happy!

your wasting ur time and money - there is no real perf gain from going from 1 gig to 2 gig unless u have an awful lot of loaded progs - VERY unlikely

save ur bucks for a direct x 10 graph card in new year !!

Apparently in BF 2 you will notice the diierence between 1 gig and 2 gigs when loading the level and for afew minutes after the level is loaded
