Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rooney cost England the match with his insane stamp under the refs nose. He is clearly an amazing player but is his temper and bad decision making going to get in the way of him achieving his potential?

As mentioned above and thru the whole England-Portugal thread it was more to do with mismanagement of the English team that cost them the WC, they never played one good game against inferior opposition. The only good team they played and they lost, says something doesnt it.

Rooney cannot play as a striker on his own, he needs to feed off a striker like he plays when he is with Utd.

Also does this warrent a new thread? please see the portugal thread for comments like this.

comments like this really annoy me because that is a typical english trait to blame theit own inadequacies on a scapegoat and rest easy in the belief that they are actually the best but just unlucky!

they were actually the luckiest team in the world cup to be so rubbish and get so far because they played all rubbush teams including portugal.

wayne rooney never cost them anything

Given the team were better after he went I don't think there's any water holding quality to the OPs contention.

    Mike.

it's part and parcel of the great player. i like his stupidity. cantona & keane would have been nothing without their explosive temperment.

it strikes fear into opposition and add's to rooney's presence on the pitch. many a defender will have that image in their mind when rooney comes in for a 50-50 challenge. it WILL make rooney more feared.
