Oh no not another Share Club!!!

I was wondering what the interest out there is for forming an adhoc Share Club - feedback/queries/discussion which could be run as far was possible amongst boardies and on-line.

Every prospective member would retain full automny in buy/sell and selection decisions. Forum would just post personal comments including buy/sell recs, some industry comments etc that would be helpful for constructive informed decision making. There's an awful lot of published info/data and comment circulating on listed cos and it's difficult to keep abreast.

Personally I would be very interested to explore FTSE/ISEQ but the more the merrier the broader the scope?

Might be considered as sharing with other like minded individuals tips/angst where to go, what to buy etc without being constrained by Big Club deals/Memorandums etc etc.

Sometimes it takes more heads than one to crack a nut - but never invest money you cannot afford to lose. But hey, it can be great fun, and there's always a buzz to making the making of money easier.

To add some fun we could also start a share league, every member starting off with same capital and see what happens over the year and celebrate with a group bash.

Balls and positive attitude to participate in a communal nest building project more important than starting capital!!

This is terribly difficult to organise and maintain (been there, bought the tee shirt) amongst work colleagues, never mind relative strangers.
You have the same old faces turning up at meetings, the same guys doing all the research, and then you have the guys that do nothing, but have had a bad weekend down the bookies, and want to see their shares.

How about a 'Fantasy Share portfolio' for a period of time, see how things go, and take it from there?
