    Shouldn't that be "avec toi chouchou" ?

    No. "Toi" is "you". "Ton" is (the masculin) "your".

    I think the person who wrote this meant: "things with your girlfriend/boyfriend are a little tense" not "things are tense with you".

    errr, yeah I know what 'toi' and 'ton' mean :)

    I had understood the person to be refering to the subject as 'chouchou'.

    Personally I wouldn't call someone else's partner 'chouchou' and thought that the sentence should have been ""avec toi, chouchou" with the comma but that's just me :)
