Do u think that using F16s and helicopter gunships to bomb the Palistinies bridges or political offices is a good responce, im not talking about the Politics of the situation, but more the tactics used?
Could Israel deploy small special forces groups to find their missing soldier?

Small Special Forces units wouldn’t scare the bejesus out of the enemy population and send a message to their goverment now would they?

Nothing says dont **** with us like gunships fighter jets and tanks.

Therein lies the problem, "the enemy population", the whole Palestinian people are their enemy. So is the battle with Hamas, the Palestinian Govt of the day or every single Palestinian? It would explain large scale attacks to hit small scale targets. In this scanario killing civilians is the order of the day as they are the enemy. Allegedly.

i think they have gained the same mentality as the U.S.. they are afraid to lose troops on the ground. the last time they went into Jenin i think it was, they ran into alot of booby traps. lost some soldiers to them. what they are doing now is just going to create more suicide bombers for them to deal with. they have some of the best intelligence and special forces groups in the world, they should use them.

Hasn't Israeli military action always been pretty much "bomb the hell out of the arabs"? I thinking revenge missions into Lebanon where a few Hamas missiles has caused a general major strike back.

As for the "scare the enemy", 2 planes went though the sound barrier over a beach palace in Sryria.

Hamas doesn't operate out of Lebanon.
