Playstation 2 Games On XtraVision LCD

I bought the 32" LCD TV Xtravision had on offer for 999 euro. The problem is that the screen is streaky when play playstation 2 games. Is this normal. I have planned to buy a 42" inch plasma. Can I expect the same thing from that as well ?
