    Hi there,

I am desperate for some help. I am repeating Honours Irish for exam 2007. I am a mature student and I haven't a clue of the syllabus now.

I rang my local secondary school and the principal said she would provide me with the book list needed. However there is no reply now and I am sure she has forgotten and gone for the summer.

I wanted it now so that I can be studying over the summer. If anyone has a list of all the books needed for next years Honours Irish, I would be so grateful..

    Thank you

Díograis Nua is the main book, it has the poems, prose and stair in it.
I dunno if theres others out there aswell? theyre probably is? but we used that one

And we did An Triail, for our drama, but i dunno if thats what you'll be doing either.

That was all I used i think, exam papers aswell, and a good ould Fóclóir and your set!

    ádh mór :D

Like Rockerette, we used Díogras Nua and An Triail.

The course is basically made up of the following:

    Tape Test
Paper 1: 2 reading comprehensions which you answer questions on
    and composition (2-3 pages).

Paper 2: Prós (in dígras nua)
drama (in our case an triail but you could be doing different)
    poetry (in diogras nua)
Irish History (good luck with this, takes ages to cover but not worth many marks...also in díogras nua)

    Oral

We're using Fiúntas 2 and Scothscéalta; we're not doing the drama. Fiúntas 2 has all the Prose, Poetry and History in it.

We used Saibhreas 5. Again everything is in there. Just out of interest why are you doing Irish again?

    Fiúntas 1 has comprehensions/essay stuff - Paper 1 stuff
    Fiúntas 2 has poetry/prose/stair - Paper 2 stuff.
Both good books, in my opinion.
An Triail is a good drama to study.
If you need any notes, I'd be glad to help.
