Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

ok lads and ladies...ive trawled through the wireless gaming threads but all ive come across is gobbledy-gook. none seem to shed any light on this for me.

i have eircom 1meg package (although to me it seems more like 2meg). my folks want to put in wireless (still with eircom). what i need to know is, is this any good for gaming? games like counter-strike, CoD2 and WoW.
any help would be mucho appreciated. ;)

Using Wi-Fi to distribute your broadband connection within a building is not an exact science. If you don't have any significant interference, and you aren't going through reinforced concrete floors, then it'll probably work. But there aren't any guarantees.

Wireless is usually ok for gaming I find - presumably your folks arent gonna be gaming so get them to have the wireless router put next to your pc if possible, and you'll either get an excellent signal, or be close enough to physically hook it up to the router.

thats the thing you see.... we had some clown from eircom come out the other day....we have eircom phonewatch and he installed a special filter to use with broadband so that the phonewatch doesnt affect it....anyway he put the splitter downstairs instead of upstairs where the computer is (idiot). thus, this is the only point in the house which we can now work broadband from (im quite angry about this tbh). he said if we want it removed it will cost €85 (thieving bastard). so my folks dont wanna pay te fecker so now they wanna get wireless instead. im exasperated :(. the wired was perfect...pings were great.
