Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello,

I have a standard IIB Ripwave box with an ethernet connection. In order to allow my pc & laptop access I'm was hoping to make it avaliable using a 3com wiress router which I have spare from a previous netsource installation.

Is is possible to share a Ripwave connection, ie can more than one machine get an IP address?

If so here's where I am at the moment ........

My laptop can connect to the 3com router fine - but -
How do I configure my setup so the laptop can take an ip address from the Ripwave box and how will my 3com direct all internet requests through the IBB box????

    Any help greatly appreiated :)

Yes it can but its undesirable as the conection will become easily maxed out.

Configure the router to do the DHCP and NAT and really that should be it.

Just plug the Ripwave into the WAN socket of the Router and away you go.

    Just some small additions...

Maye sure that your laptop and PC are configured to use DHCP to obtain IP addresses.

I assume that the 3Com wireless router has 5 network conecters at the back. As mentioned above, plug the Ripwave into the WAN socket. Your PC and laptop can go into any of the others.

Don't expect magic from it though. It's still only ripwave.

    All good quick addition

First set ur pc network settings to auto as IrishTLR says below

    then.

Get those network settings you got on the white page need to be added to the router settings as static settings.

If ur using wireless secure with wpa.

    that should do it.
