Independant financial financial advice?

I'm looking for some recommendations here as I've never gone down this route before.

Someone/company that charges a flat fee for completely independant and expert advice basically....

I don't know any but I've heard this author on the radio a few times discussing this point
He's Irish so the info is relevent to Ireland

Maybe pickup the book in Easons or have a sly read at lunchtime
