Have one of those front door locks where you have to pull up the handle and the three bolts then u lock.

Well this morning I turned the knob to unlock but the handle wouldn't go down.
I reckon one or both metal strips that has slipped.

My question is how do I open the door to fix this ?
or will I get enough access after I remove the handles?

    Cheers

    Ok

I got the lock open and off the door.
There is a piece that seems to have broken in the main part
beside the central bar that the handels turn
    i'm assuming i need a new piece.
Is it possible to buy that part only ? ie without the bars that go up/down
What sort of money am i looking at.

    cheers

If you have broken the central bar, this can be replaced on its own. If you have broken any thing associated with the internals of the lock, new lock.
Some locks have de tached locking bars, some dont. you would have to post a pic , for the correct advise.

Its an internal part of the lock.
The piece in the picture that is sticking out the side

    Thanks

    Hi,

Judging from the picture, the lock seems to have been through the wars,
You were very lucky to be able to open the door, and remove the lock. A new lock is a cheaper option , rather then a locked door that will have to be broken open.
