Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    THE SHAKEDOWN TOP 100
    Saturday August 5th
    The Bowery, The Mall, Waterford

During July we will be asking you to vote for the all time Shakedown Top 100 tracks. To vote all you have to do is write your top 3 songs down on the slips in the club over the coming weeks. From all the votes the Top 100 Shakedown Tracks of all time will be put together. On Saturday August 5th Tommy & Louis will try to squeeze in as many of those as possible, where the entire night of music will be decided for by you. This being Shakedown no doubt there'll be a few other tricks up the sleeve for the occasion. So get voting and lets see what the Top 100 tracks are!

We had the Shakedown Cup last Saturday down in Villa, a great crowd showed and we managed to raise 780 euros for the O'Regan Family Fund. Report & results below...

    SHAKEDOWN CUP
    Winners: Quantum Security
    Charity: O’Regan Family Fund
    Amount Raised: €780

So the Inaugural Shakedown Cup took place last Saturday at the Villa 5-a-side pitches in Ozier. 12 teams from the local arts & entertainment scene took part in the world cup style tournament with all proceeds from the event going to the winning teams’ nominated charity. The group stages threw up three clear favorites – Quantum (also known as The Bowery Bouncers), The Theatre Royal & The Punters, all of whom topped their group. After the first round of matches we said goodbye to Underground1, Gorbachov, Spraoi & Torann who failed to qualify for the knockout stages. The Quarter Finalss saw Quantum progress relatively easy at the expense of Ilya K, while the Theatre Royal disposed of NFO 3-1. Both The Punters & Musiklab lost out in the Quarters thanks to golden goals from Resistance & Red Kettle respectively.

In the more contested of the semi’s the Theatre Royal beat Resistance 4-3 and, although without their subs since the group stages thanks to injury, that didn’t stop Quantum beating Red Kettle 6-0. So the final was set with the Theatre Royal taking on Quantum, two of the strongest teams in the tournament. At stake the money raised for their nominated charity & a case of Heineken for the first player to score. Mark Power from the Theatre Royal duly stepped up and slotted the first one into the back of goal early on, could this be the end of Quantum? Their 7th game, with no subs, was tiredness taking hold? They answered those questions with a succession of goals to thrash the Theatre Royal 7-1. Congratulations to Mark Dunne and his team with €780 going to the O’Regan Family Fund and their name being the first on the Shakedown Cup!
