What can I say, except that it's going to rock. Good luck to ye Doc! ;)

    Cheers man :)

Rand Burkey has legal troubles and Kelly Schaefer has tendonitis and will just sing, so no lefty guitar playing this time around. The two guitarists from Steve Flynn's new band Gnostic are playing instead, but still, Athiest exists again which has to be one of the greatest things to happen to Metal for a long, long time :D

I'm in knots that I'm not going to get to see them. It's a pity, there's just no way I can afford to go to Wacken. Emperor ffs. :(

Not here, but some of us with Bloodstock or Wacken (;)) tickets will soon have the chance to pay homage to the almighty men.

Gentlemen, as the t-shirt says, Atheist are Unquestionably back after a break of 13 years :p

With typical Atheist misfortune, their guitars got lost in transit, so they were using borrowed gear yesterday. The two Gnostic guys did well under the circumstances.

We got to meet them too and, at the moment, it looks like there are 7 or so gigs and that's it :(

Tony Choy, not only officially one of the finest bass players alive, is the nicest man on Earth. Superb fella, genuinely a good egg. They all seem to enjoy themselves yesterday, so let's hope this reunion gets a bit of momentum because, seriously, you have to see those songs played before your own eyes ;)

Y'know Doc, on that last point? You couldn't be more right. ;)

I really hope they do more gigs, I'd love to see them live. I was listening to the three albums on shuffle yesterday and by christ they get better each time I listen to them.

I've just about recovered from this - goddamn what a trip, what a gig!!!

It'll suffice to say that Doc and I had a religious experience....:D

And on more than one occasion I had to remind Doc to breathe, coz he was about to start hyperventilating. :p

Brilliant brilliant gig.....just after they finished playing I think we must have been sitting there for about 15 minutes in total silence, just reflecting on what we just witnessed in a state of shell-shock.

I gave birth to Tony Choooooooooy!!! (inside joke) :D:D

As am I, but there was no way I could justify the expenses involved this year. The same goes for Wacken. Still though, it sounds like you had a wonderful f*cking time altogether.

I wouldn't mind seeing some more pics though.

    More pics here, guys.

If this guy had been any closer to the stage in the last few pics you would have been able to see the Doc and me. (And me handing Doc a tissue). :p

Also, read about Tony Choy falling off the stage in Italy here. Crazy stuff.

Falling through the stage, don't you mean? :p

Wow. See em while you can, cos the way things go for them... jaysus :(

One thing since the gig I've had a profoundly greater appreciation for, having seen just what goes into those tunes, is Kelly used to sing and play guitar at the same time... man, those tunes are next to impossible as is

    Welcome back, Doc.

I'd say you needed that holiday after the gig - good timing. :p

The missus must have wondered why the Doc is all of a sudden agreeable to the idea of a holiday. Atheist does that to you.

A change of perspective... yeah, some time to contemplate :p
