Au pairs

I've never seriously considered them but as a single parent it could definitely make life alot easier. But then again, bringing someone into your home is slightly strange thought! At 13 I also wonder if my son is much older than many au pairs would be used to. Any thoughts or advice. Also, what do they cost?
