Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well, Drogs have gotten a draw away in Helsinki, the opposition scoring with five minutes to go

Currently Derry are drawing at half time with IFK Gothenburg, away.

A decent result for Drogs, could have been better, but an away goal will be priceless.

Apparently Derry had a stonewall penalty claim turned down late in the first half, and it sounds like they are playing quite well. I am listening online on BBC Radio Foyle.

Isn't it great that the BBC take an interest in teams from OUR league, while our national broadcaster ignores our clubs competing.

Derry sound like they're playing well, an away goal would be lovely.

1-1 in Helsink isn't a bad result for Drogs, conceeding in the 85th from the corner after Dan Connor saved a penalty must have hurt though! :( Still, more coefficient points, and a strong result, hopefully they can finish it off at home now.

    Derry hit the far! FUDGE!!

Despite the late goal Drogs are still in the driving seat and should be favourites to go through. Hopefully Derry can keep things going to make it a good week for eL teams in Europe!

These were two very tough-looking draws, and both teams have done very well, I really can't see either team throwing away what they've got tonight, fair play to them. I'd give Drogheda more of a chance though, Kenny is very conservative, and limited as a manager in these situations. Not that Doolin is Kevin Keegan or anything, just the fact that he has so little experience could work to their advantage.

    Exciting Stuff.

Forde is pulling off all the saves. "Unbeleivable stops". Derry have their backs against wall...2 minutes 2 go

    FT:

    Helsinki 1-1 Drogheda
    Gothenburg 0-1 Derry

Fair play to all involved, great results!
Valuable away goals for both teams, and more coefficient points!

Derry win - really Im happy with that. 1 co-efficient point for the eircom league. The eircom league now already has 0.83 coeficient points average this year with at least 3 games left.

Four eL teams played in Europe this week, and not one loss.

This is a brilliant, perhaps best week for eL sides in Europe ever.

It was always on the cards.

When was the last time 4 professional Irish sides represented Ireland in Europe?

Great night for the Eircom League. When the draw was made we all thought that it would be very tough for the EL sides to go through but tonight we saw two great results and both teams have got to be favourites to go through now.

great week, those 2 results tonight, against more than decent opposition, are great publiclty for the game. hope the 3 teams all finish off the jobs in the second leg

It'll be very hard for Derry City, even with the away goal.

Drogs however, I think they can do it with minimal fuss.

And Cork City were by far the better side last evening, so I see no problems for them either.

Two from those three sides progressing would be great, the three of them would be bloody marvelous.

 Doolin has probaly played in more European ties than any other player in the LoI or IL.

Well done to Derry and Drogheda!!!!! :)

^ Just because he experience playing in Europe doesnt transfer to his ability as a manager. And remeber, when Doolin was playing, Irish clubs were not exactly doing themselves proud.

Great results tonight, but both ties a long long way from being over. I fancy Derry should do the business, but feel that Drogs will blow it. The late equaliser could have a severe phschological effect on them. That said, their defense has been rock solid all season, so perhaps that will be the foundation they build from.
