Eircom Speed Problem

I have Eircom's 1mb and I ran at test at irishisptest. My download speed is only 336kps. I'm connected wirelessly with a laptop and Eircoms supplied netopia modem. That speed is not impressive, any suggestions?

Have you tried the speedtest with the laptop connected by cable? A wireless test is not the most reliable to gauge the quality of your connection to the net. There are many issues that can affect the speed you get via wireless for instance how far are you from the router? any dect phones in the area - if your laptop is centrino do you have the lastest drivers for the wireless card?
