PS3 preorders?

I was in Game in Dundrum there the other day and I asked if they were taking preorders on the PS3. I was told that they would have to take my name and telephone number and that they would get back in contact with me when they were taking preorders. No offence to the lads working at Game, but that is a really stupid way of doing business in my opinion. It would take them ages to ring up people and inform them, and im sure people would have questions for them which would take up even more time.

Is there any other place that are taking preorders yet?

Cheers I have submitted my email. But I would still rather do business with a shop where I can deal face to face with the staff. I hate the effort of spending that amount of money on the net and then something does wrong and there is a lot of nonsense.

I was in Symths in Limerick today and they are taking EUR 50 deposits and told me it would be EUR 700 as you HAVE to get a game with it! Not happy with that. They didn't have a list of course and will not for a while.

Bloody typical:rolleyes: . I don't fancy forking out €700 for one. If it was about €600 I'd say yeah, but that is just takin the piss.

Not according to the report I read in Gamespot: http://www.irishgamer.ie/news.php?id=141&page=1

The MCV report says £150. But it's not decided yet..apparently retailers suggested this, but Sony hasn't agreed one way or the other yet.

I wouldn't mind that if it deterred the eBay touts, and it would probably leave me with a bit more cash on the day itself for games etc. Would be kind of clever from that perspective.

Anywhere I've read, like Gamespot etc, has quoted €150. Perhaps it'll be £150 or €150. A bit weird but that's the only thing I can think of. I'll get in contact with Sony Ireland's rep on Monday and see.
