    I don't know if this was posted earlier, but http://www.galway.net/ reported a proto-twister in Galway 24 June. Comes from the North Atlantic Skyine blog.

    Saw one of those off the south coast of spain in January. Looks pretty cool. Stayed visable for about 15 mins.

    These are good pictures. Very impressive. They certainly look like tornadoes at first sight (and one was reproduced in the Examiner at the time). They were taken in Innishannon, Co.Cork. However, I thought you would like to know that when viewed from the other side, the south, they turned out to be funnel clouds (theire were lots of eyewitnesses). Nowhere did their bases reach the ground surface, being several hundred feet short of achieving that. From the Inishannon perspective the hill in the middle ground blocks the view of the lowest parts of the funnel clouds.
