    1. Was the dog quarantined on arrival? If so for how long?

    2. Is it fully vacc'd, wormed, de-flead?

    3. Was it assessed and if so to what extent?

    4. Is it spayed/neutered (adult dog)?

    5. Will home checks be carried out before and after re-homing?

    6. Is backup provided in case things go wrong? Ie will the dog be taken back by the rescue? Will advise on the dog be provided if you are having trouble but don't want to give him back?

    7. Do you feel that your questions are welcome? If not, look somewhere else.

    8. Are they asking you questions about you home situation, ie work, kids other pets? Or do they just want to offload the dog?

    9. Avoid dogs which came straight from the pound to rescues, especially pups. Pounds are a breeding ground for all kind of diseases and pound dogs should first be properly quarantined and then vacc'd etc before they are even up for re-homing.

    10. Read the re-homing contract carefully, remember, you agree to it once you have signed it.

I am sure I forgot a thing or two but it'll do for starters :D.

    Feel free to ask ;).
