I'll warn AH of the all the "it's too hot" threads that will invariably be created.

33.3c is the all time record for Ireland.

I wonder if it will be broken this week?

I would bet 20 quid* that the record will not be broken. Btw I saw the same summary earlier on after the european forecast and I was shocked too. I wouldn't like to be in Kilkenny :o. AH will indeed be bogged down with complaints:p and here aswell I presume...

please note I have no money:p

Laois gets warmer than Kilkenny in summer because we are further inland. Pity the met don't have a station here.

The met should have a better network of stations IMHO.

21.3C at 0820, 3C warmer than this tme yesterday. Overnight min just under 10C. Station record may fall, 26.7C to beat.

Yes mothman,I think your record will fall today unless a mad sea breeze develops.

Already almost 22c here at 9am in flat calm conditions.

Sea breeze here soon I think

The sea breeze is starting now,it had to with these temps.

I reckon we'll have a gale force sea breeze today :D

ughh its kind of too hot here now... and that sea breeze is abit reluctant

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,498 ✭✭✭Mothman

Sea Breeze! Only gentle one though.

Temp was 24C, now back down to 22C.

I still think 26.7C will be broken, then again, I may have already seen today's max...

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

Temperature up to 23c and flat calm at present

Irish 1,i think the brits all time high 38.4c recorded in Kent.

Scorchio out there stuck indoors and im melting at this stage with the humidity still low, what will happen if it gets any higher than this=meltdown.

Sea breeze has not kicked off yet here, dont forget to record your high values today and post them in the relevant thread.

Temp starting to edge upwards after falling below 21c. Now above 22C.

Breeze is very light. I'm not so confident that my 26.7C will go.
Note that's official max. AWS can over read by a few tenths, and has recorded 27.1C in the past.

it got up to 24c and man i forgot how warm 24c felt!

Its now down to 22c and a pleasent very light breeze and
pure blue skies. Thats what i call the perfect summers day.

The spanish will be laughing at us with our 24c.When they get that at night.
Goes to show we are not use to it at all,us pale skinned people.:D

    http://www.nra.ie/RoadWeatherInfo/Map/data/htm/WeatherTable.htm

The above link has 52 stations across Ireland reporting... I see some are in the 26s at the Midday report...

    Its gonna be a scorcher!

25C here now, I think we cud hit 27C or even 28C before day is over

such a rarity indeed to have these temps in Ireland even England gets these temperatures quiet regularly down in London and the Southeast.

Sky News said the highest temps today in the British Isles (can we use this term) was going to be in the Isle of Mann. That must be a first...?I would have taught the sea would cool things down a lot on the Isle of Mann.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

I spent 20 minutes soaking in some rays and ended up soaking

    They might not be.
Low 30's I'd say.I've been down that way a lot and a couple of years ago it was 38c and didnt cool down even at night.
Thats insufferable heat, its like turning on a hair dryer in your face and taking deep breaths.

Nice is a lovely airport :)

Back on topic... Dublin is at 25c now and heading for 26c.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

    27c now in Kilkenny.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,033 ✭✭✭Snowbie

Reached 26.7c on my station, thats just 0.5c off my station record at 27.2c.
Humidity is still low at 43%.Thank God its just that as any higher will be unbearable altogether.
