Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Empoli Denied Uefa License

Empoli's hope of playing in the Uefa Cup have been shattered as the FIGC has denied them the emergency procedure to obtain the Uefa License.

This means that if the current verdicts are confirmed, Milan will still be able to play in Europe, in the Uefa Cup competition.

The second degree verdict of the Calciopoli scandal is expected to be announced on Saturday.

that fact that they got deducted 44 points and still made the uefa cup would suggest they deserve it

Milan were not banned from europe
They were deducted enough points from last seasons total to ensure(so they thought) they did not qualify for it

Yeh, I hope the Italian FA step in to fix their mistake, it was a very silly silly mistake to make.

Don't the FA get to choose who represents them in Europe? They can send whatever club they want, regardless of league position (although that's always the method used). The might just choose the team below Milan.

there is a callico code of something or other, it's like footballing law, They would have to change it.

It can only be good for Italian football to have Milan in Europe. It'll also be good for the UEFA cup as it was absolutely terrible last season (also, the losers of the QR3 in the CL now go into the UEFA cup).

with the 44 point reduction they finish under Empoli and therefore don't deserve to play as they cheated, the only reason they're playing is because Empoli can't

You do realise that the aligations of cheating are from the 04-05 season, therefore making you wrong?

therefore they deserve it. its not milans fault empoli invested more in players than in the basics such as a stadium that matches their ambitions

and where and why was this magic number of 44 points used? What was the purpose of docking them that exact amount?

I would like to see a great club lke Milan in the CL like yourself but I dont think they deserve it. To deserve it you must be worthy and fair to achieve it, and Milan were not in previous years and must be punished for it now.

And where they punished in the 05/06 season for it? if you commit a crime more than a year ago and for certain reasons the case isnt closed until the present should that alter the punishment?

Yes but their punishment was 44 points being deducted from their 05-06 season

    making you wrong

If Milan lose their appeal on Saturday there is a possibility that they can recieve a stiffer punishment be it in terms of an increased points deduction, ban from European football and/or relegation to Serie B so if you're a Milan fan don't be celebrating yet.

I have nothing against Milan fans but the club should be punished by not letting them play European football next season. They do not deserve it as I stated earlier.

If Milan play in Europe it'll be an absolute joke.

They are being punished for past actions, and that punishment includes not playing in Europe next season. You think the powers that be just randomly decided 44 points? No, it was to stop them from playing in Europe, full stop.
The Italian FA will step in and sort this out.
