9am in schools and 12pm online!
Well if you're getting yours in the post (like yours truly) you could always camp outside your local delivery office at 6am or whenever they open to ask for your mail early. I'll think I'll pass on that, I'm anxious to get my results but I like sleep too :)

Yeah, I was doing only Ordinary Maths and I felt really terrible after coming out of the exam because I know I didn't do too well. That doesn't mean i failed but I barely got a pass in my Mocks and I feel I've done worse than my Mocks!!! Also, I was totally f*cking pissed off with bloody ****ty Maths paper. The nerve of them examiners giving such a difficult paper at ordinary level where every single question had some sort of incomprehendible twist in it. What annoyed me was how the newspapers goes "Oh the Higher level was hard and the Ordinary was fine according to a few goody two shoed students from some private school!" I should have taken Foundation even if one gets 0 points!

Oh, if I don't pass Maths, I'll f*cking scream my head off and kill those bloody examiners!!!

Sorry, I'm a total drama queen!!! :D *mutters: Death to Maths!"

I need to get a B in pass maths but im not sure if I got it. Every1 taught paper 2 was a lot easyer but I found it harder than paper 1. I made a mess of Tech Drawing I am just hoping I somehow get a C3 in it but that is just wishfull thinkin I will be lucky 2 get an D3 but the thing wat pisses me off the most is that I cud have got an B in it my mind just went blank. And the last Subject im dreadin back in Business I was crap at it from 1st yr till 6th yr and I still did higher level! I left out one of the long questions cos I ran out of time. As for the rest I SHUD be ok!

At least if many are doing crap the results will be marked reletive to everyone else who sat the exam and your performance wont be the only deciding factor, rather
how everyone else did competing with each other will dictate your results.
On a side note i firmly this autocratic, bureaucratic 1920,s exam is a VERY poor way to measure someones ability because how can you perform at optimal performance in two weeks when you have studied for two years?
people arent databases who can retrive process and store MASSIVE amounts of rote learned material.
    Wheres the analytical thinking?
Apparently the a level system is 80% course work and 20% terminal exam.
Why do we have to put up with such a crap system?
Broader education my ass! how are you going to remember any of the crap afterwards as most of it is redundant useless trivial cack bar a foreign langauge and some maths theory and science. Geography anyone?
Dont get me started about Poetry or Lear. English should be about effective communication and writing in a business sense not some deep philiosophical crap which 95% of people couldent really give a damm about(or find a use for).
    Or maybe i am wrong?
I needed to get that off my chest:)

    meh, it's a **** system...
i saw on tv last night though that that minister of education person(dunno what shes called, nor do i care) said she put in an appeal that paper one of english and irish should be brought forward to may..but she doesn't think continous assestment is needed because people should need to learn how to deal with stress from an early age.
load of bull**** really, why would you want to go adding unneccessary stress on people, when you could sort it out my reviewing the system...
i dunno, think it's ridicolous, over the last few years there's been a handful of people who've commited suicide cos they couldn't get what they wanted..

meh, it doesnt really matter to me whether they change it or not...i've done it twice, I'm not doing it again. I just wish the results were out now, so I could stop thinking about it and have it confirmed that I did crap!! yay!

I know people who correct History and English. Apparently History overall was very good, but too many people we getting A's so they had to change the marking scheme and good few times. As for English, it was an easy enough paper but it wasn't answered great I was told

Yeah I completely agree with ye. I think that the minister just wants to avoid all the the extra hassle that would becaused if education system was to be reformed for the better. I'd say she knows deep down that it's crap. But tries to cover it all up by saying that stress is good for you and a part of life bla bla but isn't continous commitment to something more important when it comes to education/careers. I think it is anyway.

I'll more than likely get on good enough in my LC. Why...because I crammed for everything in the last two months leading up to the exams. Before that I barely turned up for my classes I even got suspended for 2 weeks for being out so much.
Now, what would someone like me do if continuos assesment came in...they'd be ****ed. I don't deserve to get good results and it shows I'm not a very academic person. But as far as the education system is concerned I got on great, I dealt with the stress well now off to college you go. The whole system promotes a ''leave it to the last minute'' type of attitude.

I'm not really nervous about the results anymore. I'll get what I'll get can't change it now plus there's still two months of the ''summer'' left.

    Thats it in a nutshell.
    Your opinion makes sense.
pity you have very little time to prove yourself to the "messer" beside you who dossed for 6 years and purely by luck probably did fine.
luck and memory are the biggest factors in these exams .
I know people who "learn" honours maths dont really understand what they are doing , just how to come to a certain point where you will gain acceptable marks.
seriously what is the point in learning so much stuff and not really ever analysing or using abstract reasoning in doing them?.
English for example is non-specific and you can just learn a few essays off and mould them to suit the question along with tonnes more stuff.
Also you are right about commitment.
For instance i am "determined" to do what i want even at worst it means doing a extra year for a PLC.
My life wont be dictated by a inferior ,student unfriendly,"its everyman for himself" type "education" system.
The minister for Education is the type of people that will hold this country back in terms of peoples attitudes towards education in Ireland.

This really should be seperate however:D

Is there any point in getting the results the old fashioned way? Do you get a fancy certificate or anything? If not I might as well get them online.

Nah, 'tis just an A4 sheet that looks more or less like the real certificate, only on cheaper paper. Plus of course you get them earlier than online.

I'm pretty sure it's 9am in schools, Noon online.

Naikon: I got my proper JC one mailed out. They wait until they've finished doing any rechecks that are requested before they send the real ones out.
