lads i am getting a car soon, a classic mini hopefully, now i wanna get a decent sound system in it, good head unit, speakers and somthing to add a bit a bass to it.
i also want it to be as loud as hell. i dont listen to dance or rap or techno, i am more into metal with a bit of rock.
can any body reccomend me a set up, i also would ike it to come in under e250, i also get a 15% discount in halfords from axa so id wanna get my stuff there:D

Halfrauds sell over priced audio,so 15% discount or not it'l more than likely still be dearer than any other shop.There's really not much i could reccomend on your budget.

Also do you want a sound quality (SQ) or sound pressure (SPL) system or both (SQL)

Like a rough break down on a budget system would be

150 - headunit with preouts
100 - 2 channel amp
70 - set of components
250 - bass pack inc amp
50 - wiring/fuses ect

It'd be louder than a stock system but not loud as hell,tbh on your budget its gonna be hard to build a "loud as hell" system

sorry but excuse my ignorance but what does sound pressue and sound quality mean??(i can kinda guess the 2nd one though)
a mini is really really small i was thinking a decent head unit with a good out put lke 50 -70w coupled with a set of 6x9 and 10 inch speakers in the dash, i suppose i dont really need a sub till later on when i have more cash.
would the set up i mentioned above be any good, tbh in reality 80 -85 Dbl would be adequate.

Sound quality is basically wound quality.More emphasis on the acoustics than anything else.SPL is purely about how loud your bass is - Ie the higher the decibel reading the better but a good goal is 130+!

See the problem you have with a headunit is its values stated are max power(usually 45-50 x4) Max values mean absolutly shag all when it comes to car audio.

Say you buy a set of front speakers that are 70w rms.Your average Headunit puts out about 15rms per channel,your radio is well underpowered for the speaker which in turn causes distortion and the radios inbuilt amp to clip from you running it hard to power the better speaker.

To get anyway decent sound at all you need to have any speakers in the car run off a seperate amp.Even on a budget system theres a big difference between running off an amp as opposed to a headunit.

6x9's are a total nono if you intend on using a sub,but on a budget basis they'l probably suffice your needs.

Is there any kit youve looked at yet?i may be able to help more if you pick out a few bits to give you a comparison

What you picked out should suffice your needs except you would have to buy the other amp to run your speakers as the one you picked out is a "mono block" and there specificly for subs.

The other ones also only a 2channel so you would have to run 1 set of speakers off the headunit and one set off the amp

If adding an amp dont forget to budget for a wiring kit,about 50 euros or so
