Was reading about this thing and thought it might be fun.
Flash mobs, the spontaneous physical manifestation of Smartmobs have finally come to Ireland.

From Irish Independent - A large group of people is summoned to a specific place at a specified time. They say or do something silly and are gone, leaving puzzlement in their wake.

On Saturday, the venue was Clark's shoe shop on O'Connell Street, where about 100 people appeared, out of the blue, at 5.05pm. Staff were bemused and somewhat wary, particularly when, at 5.07pm exactly, the crowd began shouting that they "like cheese".

But they hadn't long to worry. The participants had co-ordinated their watches and at 5.09 precisely they were gone. Staff all saw the funny side. It was an honour, in a peculiar way, to be chosen as the destination for the flash mob, they reckoned. "It gives customers something to talk about," said employee Paula.

Apparently some else tried this but no takers back then. Anyone up for it now?

I suggest a mob later this year, after the races. Maybe something along the lines of meeting outside the back of Kings Head and then walking thorugh to the front, everyone dressed like American tourists (or such) and each have a camera with flash. We then try to use up all of the 36 pics inside the pubs while moving to the front and away.

Imagine sitting down for lunch or a drink in the KH and suddenly 50 tourists show up, all dressed alike and flashes going off like no tomorrow. Two minutes later they're all gone :D

Flash mobs were a stupid idea 2 years ago. Has this changed in the meantime? Did I miss the memo?
