To be honest I think you should be a bit suspicious. Why don't you know what frame it is? Has it been repainted? Can you find a serial number on the frame?

If it has a full XT groupset I can't see anyone just dropping it off at a junk collection point....Not for a minute saying you or whoever you got it from are doing anything dodgy, just saying it's not impossible that the bike was stolen.

Be really careful with it. If it was me, I'd run it by the local Gardai, just to cover my own arse.

the frame is fcuked:mad: but i think it was a specialised bout 7 years old as the drop outs are like specialised:confused: . it has RMB above the drop out:confused: . the xt is the 94' model , its got a bit of corrosion of the aluminium, a pretty bad dent which has affected a weld just on the joint of top tube and seat post. id say the frame is a write off as its been resprayed and fupped around a bit.
who ever owned this is a muppet the bike had a lovely frame with a heap of top of the range parts on it, and the owner decided to give the bike a respray along with the race face cnc machined polished aluminium cranks:mad:  .
this is mad that bike must have cost him around £1000 new back in the day:eek: !!!
when i cleaned the bike up, i found out the cranks were race face as was the chain rings. so it doesnt have a full xt group set, the stuff is quite rare though.
nah man i got it at a junk collection i have the serial number so i dont see any point in calling the gaurds, it had no rims when i found it!!!
just some stupid owner with no sense of value
