V9 is now available for any of you who've been waiting for the non-NT release (e.g. Quest, 2610, etc..).. Visit the Garmin Site and log into MyGarmin..

I upgraded my Garmin 300 to V9 a few weeks ago. Just happened to check map version on the unit and it didn't update properly as V8 was still displayed. I thought it had as the European roads appeared that weren't there before. I loaded up map source on my PC and saw loads of roads I knew weren't on my unit ie Cavan bypass . I updated it again and it worked .

Map source is great if you want to put in waypoints etc manually !

Does anyone know will mapsource install on a windows vista PC?

Yes, it will, but you need to have the latest version of Mapsource.
    Version 6.11.6 or newer..

I was also having difficulty upgrading to v9 on vista machine. The upgrade itself went fine, but the mapsource program did not recognize my NUVI 310 even though I had mapsource version 6.11.6

Solution from Garmin Europe: Upgrade Mapsource to version 6.12.02 http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=209 This version has just been released.
They also recommended upgrading the NUVI 310 software to version 3.60 http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=1529

Note: You may have to run mapsource 'as administrator' (right click mapsource and click 'run as administrator')

Was Chattin to Garmin today lookin for a registration code.....I asked them when V10 Ireland software would be available and they said not until Before Christmas for consumers.

Got my Reg code ok and they're sending out V9 within the next Week!

Hey Slick, is your GPS receiver an NT product or a non-NT product?
Garmin have been extremely slow at posting out the non-NT v9 upgrade DVDs. The easiest way to get it is to find someone who has it already and borrow the DVD to install it... (You pay for the unlock code rather than the actual DVD, so Garmin don't mind if you distribute the DVD).

I bought the c510 deluxe yesterday and its the NT product.
    What does this mean exactly?

Also my c510 came with mapping for the uk and ireland pre loaded and i got v9 of mapsource on dvd. Is it already the uk and ireland mapping from v9 that would be preinstalled on the system?

I bought one of those recently, and based on my experience, yes, you'll have v9 already installed. There are two ways of satisfying yourself of this fact. Inside the settings area there's a "map" option or something similarly named, within which there's an "about" option that will reveal the version number. Or you can simply rely on the level of detail. Pick a provincial town like Sligo or Ennis and zoom in on it. If you can see housing estate-level street detail, you've got v9.

To be honest I expected a lot more from the mapping. I mean east point business park in Clontarf isnt on the map and its been here a few years.

You mean this business park? Or is it the fact that the road names are missing?
    See attached..

yeah i meant the business park.

Well, the above picture is from CN9, so I don't know why it's not appearing on your maps/device.

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and I hope to find some help about my new gps garmin nuvi 610.
I'm italian but i'm planning to move to ireland and i was wandering where i can buy a map of ireland for my gps, as i plan to travel the country a lot.
I read all your posts here, and my question is: is the METROGUIDE EUROPE V.9 the right choice for me? What i need is a map that can take me to the specified address i give it (to the house number); i don't mind if the roads and new motorways are all up to date as far as i can reach every street and house of big and small villages (and not only big cities like limerick or cork).
If anybody owns the metroguide europe v.9, please could you tell me if it does what i require?
And if not, could you please give me some advices on what map to buy and where (also online)?
    Thank you very much
    Ely

Doesn't your Italian Nuvi 610 already have maps for Ireland?
Metroguide maps are not routable, so I would go with City Navigator v9.

If you bought the Italian maps only, you can pick up the Uk, Ireland maps from Garmin's website.

    or all of Europe:
