    Hi,

This has come up before and I have read most of the other threads about it, but I'm wondering could anyone that has smart broadband, and that has interleaving turned OFF could post some ping times, particulary ping times at peak times such as 7pm-10pm in the evening, also if possible 20-30 pings rather than just 4. Oh and you could ping cs.jolt.co.uk or any uk server realy.

The reason is obvious, I want (NEED) a connection that is good for playing online games. At the moment we have NTL 10meg connection, which is great for most things, but there is ALWAYS pings spikes, and they are particulary bad at peak times.

I rang smart today to order and was informed its a year contract, so I just want to make sure that it will do what I need.

Also in one of the other threads someone mentioned that smart could give you a 3meg down / 1 meg up connection, I asked about this and the sales guy didnt seem to know much (not suprisingly), has anyone got this kind of connection? The only one i was offered was standard 3meg/256k and 4meg/380k.

    Thanks!!!

smart do not offer a 3Mbit down/1Mbit up connection to residential customers.

Their residential packages range from 3Mbit/256Kbit to 6Mbit/512Kbit

Possibly if you were a large corporate you may get it.

Bear in mind that the quality of your line will play a big role and you cannot know what sort of speed or pings you will get until you are actually connected.

With interleaving off......the line here is pretty good so as dub45 said you wont really know how your line will be until your connected.
