Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kerley resigns as Waterford United manager

Just spotted that Kerley has resigned - from rte.ie
    http://www.rte.ie/sport/2006/0724/waterfordunited.html

Given the team's performances, I cant see how he has stayed so long. I briefly tried to go back and watch a few games in the RSC but I've never sat with so many people in such silence before. It was boring and at times like watching the skills of your average pub team. (With no disrespect to pub teams!).. in fact, Im sure pub teams actually try harder in games.

Where do the club go from here? I find myself in an odd position that I'd love to love this club.. but I cant! (Sounds like Im dumping it :D )

Are we headed in Dublin City's direction?

I hope Waterford don't go the way of CHF.

You have to realise that the players there probably aren't up to Premier League standard, haven't won a game this season, and their confidence is at a very low ebb.

I'd much prefer to see them playing against teams of their own standard. The trouble is they cant even get relegated now!

I've a feeling they will be relegated anyways, i doubt they are one of the 12 new teams that will make up the new and improved top flight.

Probably not, which is the same reason Seery took CHF out of existence.

I didnt think that there was a relegation this season. Especially now that Dublin City have folded.

Tbh he was a very strange choice as manager when it was anounced last season. What are the odds of Rennie be put back in charge now.

I wonder did Reynolds' return create a bit of friction there...

I might have a pop at 16/1 Waterford to be the first team to win at the Brandywell on Friday night. :)

it would still have disintegrated, was nothing to do with him leaving, the money just wasnt there to pay them

This game has been moved to Sunday night.

Also, its been reported in the locol media, that 2 ex managers Jimmy Mcgeogh and Tommy Lynch have both applied for the vacant position as Waterford United manager.

Jimmy McGeogh gave an interview to WLRfm stating he had applied for the job. He stated he had unfinished business at the club.

There was no confirmation from Tommy Lynch though.
