    Hi guys,

Just a quick question for all you shooting enthusiasts. In relation to muzzleloading and flintlock rifles that were produced pre 1898, what is the current legislation? Do they fall under normal firearms legislation? Or is there a certain year that they become antiques?

Reason I'm asking is because of this site -> http://arms2armor.com/store/product45.html

    Cheers,

    Hi Hauk,

The date for antique guns is pre 1845 in this country. The gun you're looking at is a reproduction and would count as a modern weapon, albeit a flintlock. If you were to buy it you would have to licence it as a normal gun.

You could have fun convincing you firearms officer you want a licence for a .50 caliber rifle! Also, if you got by this barrier, you will find it very hard to source the blackpowder to fire it.

All the best and let us know how you get on.
