Not sure if this is the right place but it is game related. You know the way alot of clans have their own video which consists of game footage usually and lots of text and effects etc. Im just wondering what programs they use besides Windows Movie Maker.

So bascilly what Im asking is if ppl could name some? ;)

Most of those game movies are recorded demos, which are played back using high quality config settings and outputting either in AVI or image format. Then imported into something like Adobe Premier for editing.

Thats the way CS/Quake/Doom stuff is done.

A low level method of doing it might be using something like Fraps.

Fraps is your basic recording device, it records the output of your video card.

if you want to add snazzy stuff then adobe premier and after effects are what you need.

if you try to record a video during a game you will suffer a huge frame drop as fraps records and will eat away at your hard drive storing raw avi. 30 second clips will take up hundreds of megs.

so make sure you get a divx/xvid encoder.
