    Hello everyone .

This is my first post on this forum . Ive been reading over the archives for a while but decided to finally register :) .

Sorry if this is a newby question to ask but Im just not to sure about it .

Am I right in saying that 16 years of age is the age at which you could apply for a license on a shotgun ?

Is this the same age for applying for a .22 rifle ? 16 years of age ?

Ive heard that upon until recently you had to be 17 to aply for a rifle .Will the upcoming amendments change this age or will it remain the same ?

    Thanks in advance
    Remmy

It's always legally been 16 for both, though local policies varied around the country.

People will be able to apply for training certificates at a younger age once the new Criminal Justice Act is enacted.
