Here are a few pics a jewellary box I'm making! Have to line all the inside of the drawers in felt and get a mirror for the inside of the lid!

Anyone have any ideas what the timber is? My cousin gave it to me there ages ago! He said is was walnut?! Is he right or wrong?

Nice work Galwaydude, the wood isnt ash or perhaps elm? Walnut is bit darker (in most cases, some walnut is pretty light) and wouldnt have the distingtive grain like the wood you have.

Have you any good sources for felt or are you just picking some up locally? I need some for a display case.

CroppyBoy picked up in a material shop in Athlone town! It was on a big roll of red felt. That's the only colour that was left when I was there! I dont think it's ash. What does elm look like? I'v never seen it!

I always thought walnut is a dark brown almost black in color! Maybe I'm wrong but that's the way it always looks on t.v.

Kadman if your knocking around you might let us know what it is?!
