Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. When I first met my bf, he shaved down there and I told him not to bother that the hair didn't bother me but now that it has grown back I have been dropping subtle hints for him to get rid of it. What I mean to say is that it didn't bother me when I had nothing to compare it to.

Im a bloke and I keep the garden clear of grass.
I actually had this conversation with my friend very recently and shes the one that convinced me they like it better, she did anyways. I also slept with sum1 a little while ago who i had slept with before but had a few bushes in the garden, she said she prefered it clear and found it kindy kinky/sexy. so i guess thats two that prefer it. I do too. a little wierd the first few times i went to the bathroom, looked down and said "is that mine?" before i remembered.

The only time the topic has cropped up was extra sensitivity for him - made no odds to me either way.

Clear all the way, stops nasty bacteria from living down there as well. :)

I'd actually find it V weird (at first anyway), if a guy had no hair down there.

My fav bit is actually the little bit of hair on a guy above his little friend.
    I find that SO sexy.

Either trimmed close or non-existent here. Very different set of sensations for both of us and u aint getting your nose scratched

What is it with people using analogies. Are we dealing with 6 years olds here?

Well back to the question in hand, as a bloke I like to keep all my bodily hair neat and tidy. At the end of the day it's what make you feel most comfortable that matters. You've nothing to lose by trying it out, it'll grow back and if you keep your skin moisturised where you've shaved you'll find it unlikely you'll get any irritation. You'll also find that some blokes who shave their pubic hair like the impression of extra length it gives their penis.

Have to agree, On a girl I like a little strip of trimmed hair on the front but none underneath or at the sides.

For me, I shave the sides and around the base of my penis and my scrotum then I trim the front very tight, so I have some there.

It looks better for everyone and feels better for everyone. Let your partner shave you, that's fun too.

I dont like crude words for genitalia, also it totally public forum.

Sometimes anaolgies are amusing and raise a smile

Whats crude about calling a penis a penis etc? Nothing.

If people were looking to rasie a smile I'm sure they could pop over to the humor forum.

To the board mods sorry for posting off topic.

Well on the northside we refer to our little friend as "the baldy fella" which I think is a fitting analogy here given the OP's original topic.

...and just to add - I think a little trim with scissors is a good idea for both sexes if you plan on going south for recreation - but the whole shaven/waxed thing? It makes you look weird!! blokes look like a plucked chicken and girls look like they fell on a wire fence...

Nothing wrong with calling a penis a penis. I was giving my opinion of why i dont use crude words.
Why the bee in the bonnet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

should this be in AH at this stage???

see the thing about the wire fence syndrome is purely lack of aftercare i think.

if u shave/wax it properly and keep it moisturised after it should be ok unless u have a reaction or something...

would i be right in sayin that???

think he is refering to the "red dot" syndrome after a fresh shave,

    cleanse tone moisturise

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

Don't go against the grain untill your skin is use to being shaved and always use a good moisturiser, this will help to avoid red dots etc, I've never had razor burn because I take car! and it feels great and looks great when it's nice and smooth, more hygenic too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

Nooooooooooooo, I could NEVER shave down there!!!!! (Female)

I'd need to shave about 3 times a day to keep it stubble free:- just not worth it in my eyes.

    I'm also V shy, so I won't go & have it waxed.

    what do I do?
    Epilate
Down there is completely hair free until almost in line with my clit. The rest is trimmed down to practically nothing & epliated around the edges. I'd like to epilate further, but it gets waay too painful after that.

Then I exfoliate daily & use TendSkin to prevent any ingrown hairs.

The smooth feeling is gorgeous & lasts at least a week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

how can it have a smooth feeling if it's only trimmed down? It looks the best with a line of hair leading to the clit - like a treasure trail, but it needs to be shaved and it'll feel/look better. Just go with the grain and use a new blade, then you wont get razor burn or ingrown hairs. Or do get the laser hair removal - then you wont need the shave or wax or trim!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

I hate that little landing strip look.
Looks so stupid in my opinion.

Mine looks more like your ordinary bikini wax (from the front), but from my clit to my anus is completely hair free & smooth (more like a brazilian). This is where I was talking about it being smooth.

There's no way I'm doing the shaving thing. This works for myself & the bf.

Yes, I'd love to get it permanently removed by laser, but don't think it bothers me enough to go to that extreme

I like my man to be neat and trimming about the c0ck but definetly smooth around the balls etc, i love to lick and suck them but hate to get hair in my mouth. He obliges me coz i make it worth his while;)
I personally like to keep it quite trim down there too but he likes me to keep a little around my ass, everyone has different preferences!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25 ron.dolan

Way I see it, its 2006, not 1986. You have to keep the place tidy, nobody likes picking it out of their teeth, do they?

    Yuck.

Seriously though, a trimmer does the job on the large swathes and if your man enough (I'm not - did it once and jesus h christ was it painful.....) you could also get a 'back, sac and crack' wax......

    But be warned!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,562 ✭✭✭cance

bsc is not for the feint hearted tbh...

the most important thing to remember with any of the above is the obligatory moisturise.

    you must moisturise!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,401 ✭✭✭✭Anti

every couple of weeks i go to get the " back sac and crack "done. Ive had it done since i was 17/18. I do it because it looks better. more hygenic, espicially in the hot summer months. For me to much hair down there is a bit of a turn off. I dont like it all off, thats reserved for porn stars. but the landing strip or the mexican down there is grand for a girl. like said above by OP the lip area of a woman should be kept tidy. no nessicerily shaved, but trimed.

The only neccessary moisture I'd recommend for that procedure is large quantities of single malt.....

Or maybe a good clout of bat about the head. Its really, really, really painful.

Women have my utmost respect for doing that on any sort of regular basis.

Battle of the sexes? Women by a mile lads.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

well here's the options for girls...

Hollywood : completely bald all over
Brazillian : really just bikini line
Playboy : just a landing strip on front
Las Vegas : hollywood but with pubic gems
Australian Thong Wax : hair on front and bald back, side and underneath

All women should be nice and smooth underneath for sure, if there's a bit on the front or bald I don't mind! Nothing worse than going down to get a mouthfull of hair or prickly stubble. I shave my balls and ass and the base of the shaft along with the sides, don't go bald on front but keep it neat - girls love it!

    its ouchies time then.

no, bsc (back sack and crack) is only for the strong willed. back isnt so bad, but anything after that is incredible.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,401 ✭✭✭✭Anti

    i dunno about that chap.

The back is the worst for me, well lower back, im not some type of hairy mammoth :)

I once had to have one of my eyebrows one arm and one leg done because i lost a bet. Not that was REAL pain. It was more painfull then when i broke my arm and collar bone :(

Just wondering where you get the BSC done? The G/F suggested I get the back and chest waxed before the holidays I was thinking of going the whole hog but not sure on the pain levels?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

Yeah, Im a bloke and I keep there ALL shaved and clean. It supposedly makes it look bigger too which is a benifit. When it comes to grls, I would prefer its at least kept tidy but doesnt have to be shaved.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20 foxyloxy

Almost every woman I know tidy's her area. With waxing being the most popular option by a long shot. Short term pain, long term gain.

I've never had the pleasure of seeing a man with a tidy area though! I'm obviously going to the wrong places ;)

    Agreed,

It must be a city boy thing..... (Not meaning offence by that), but being a country girl, I've never been with a boy who groomed his privates.

    Cant be bothered going unreg.

Very curious about this though on the ladies its a DEFINATE plus I didnt realise alot of guys did it too and I certainly didn't realise that alot of girls liked it done.

So if you went for the bsc how long does it last for?
    how much does it cost?
and where would you get it done?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser
