Newstalk is going national and now it seems is taking frequences of other stations, Regional Hospital Radio in Limerick and the fm station broadcasting from University Hosptial Cork are both being moved from there FM slot to make way for Newstalk!

I dont see how this was allowed especially since Newstalk is currently on 106 and is now moving to 107 which is whats causing all these problems, i dont think a new station should be allowed to take over from community stations who no doubt will lose listeners directly to Newstalk because of the situation!

The BCI don't allow a station to own a frequency any more and reserve the right to re-allocate a frequency as ComReg dictates. It's a real pain for any station to have to move especially a small station that doesn't have the marketing resources.
