Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The wisdom of selecting Robson as Stauntons right hand man looks increasingly foolish.

    from bbc
Former England manager Sir Bobby Robson was taken to hospital after falling ill 10 minutes into a game at his former club Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The 73-year-old became Ipswich's honorary club president this summer and was paraded in front of the supporters at Portman Road before the match.

But then he complained of feeling unwell and, after seeing the club doctor, was sent to Ipswich hospital.

The hospital's bed-site manager said his condition was "comfortable".

The hospital could not give any details about the symptons Robson was suffering with when he was admitted.

It is understood the former England manager was accompanied by Dr Hugh Davies, his cancer specialist, who had been a guest of Robson at the match.

A statement released by Ipswich Town Football Club read: "He was attended by the club doctor and, as a precaution, was transferred to Ipswich hospital.

Ipswich Hospital bed-site manager Sandra Churchyard told BBC Sport: "Sir Bobby Robson is in Accident and Emergency having routine tests performed and his condition is comfortable."

Asked when he might be released, the bed-site manager added: "We are not sure at the moment."

In May Robson had a cancerous tumour removed from his lung.

The tumour, which the hospital said was bigger than a golf ball, was only spotted when he had an X-ray following a skiing accident.

That was the third time he has had a cancer scare - having beaten the illness twice before, in 1992 and 1995.

    Mike.

No disrespect to the man, but his appointment was an absolute farce given his obvious failing health at the time.

And now this, I hope it's not too serious, but I think he should be taken out of this job he has with the FAI.

Can't say I am surprised the FAI get nothing right.

Stan appointment was a joke from the off never mind bringing in Robson

I agree with Seansouth, he needs to be removed from this job if he is ill.

You're right about the FAI getting nothing right, absolutely, but I have to say, give Stan a chance.

I think Stan may well come good for us, give him time. As another Shels supporter, I'll salute certain managers with no experience! ;) Especially Gareth Farrelly!! :D:D

Appointing a 73 year old was always a risky tak, especially one with poor health. Backfired, surprisinly! :) Anyways, get well soon Bobby and all that.

The way you're talking, its like as if the time he spent coaching Walsall reserves counts for nothing

They are idiots, they do get everything wrong, even when sometimes it seems easier to get things right, but tbh, they could have appointed mickey mouse as manager (infact they have) and I'd still get behind him and the team...even though i'm against the decision.

The irony is that Robson's role as a "adviser" is simply because at least one of your senior coaches has to have his badges and be qualified to do so by FIFA at international level.

Hillariously, the FAI have failed to ensure 1 single senior coaching member of staff is qualified to manage a national team.

If (god for bid) Bobby was to die, or resigned from his post due to ill health during the qualifiers, we would be unable to take to the field until someone else was appointed!

    The FAI :D

You have to laugh or otherwise you would just cry and grow very angry at how our national game is managed.
