Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

West Stand, what's that, about 12,000? Nothing to write home about I'd say.

The only thing chelsea would have to save for is barca itself

I'd say it's more like addidas dont want one of their ads peppered with umbro logos.

Stamford bridge doesn't have any umbro signs in it anymore!

Good idea in fairness I think..

unless unless they are trying new marketing tricks in the hope of becoming more and more self sufficient.

    Wonderful English from the Mirror:

"CHELSEA is banning fans who have not bought its new £44.99 shirt from appearing in the world's biggest-ever team photo."

What more were you expect from an English publication?

incidentally, ever read the Evening Herald? now thats poor english and spelling.

Aye, it goes from banning all the way to "being accomodated in another section" Sterling journalism.

Chelsea is a football club - so this is gramatically correct (and consistent with the use of its later in the sentence). In reality it's probably ok to use is or are in this case.

Seems like a good idea from a purely aesthetic point of view.

gallas might have to buy a shirt and sit in the stand if he wants in on the photo

I meant the ones on the old jerseys.Hence the whole ban on older jerseys wich were made by umbro.

Point taken. I was under the assumption that it was the people of Chelsea football club, people being plural, "banning" the fans who arrive without the new strip.

Shock! Horror! Chelsea consumers, sorry, fans, being ripped off by corporate goons in new merchandising wheeze?
Isn't that what Chelsea fans are for? And ManU fans and Arsenal fans and Real Madrid fans? Why is this news?

Give over. It's a brilliant marketing event, both from Adidas and Chelsea's point of view, a marketing event of the kind eL clubs can only dream about. :(

As stated, its probably sponser related. In which case, you can hardly blame them. I think it's a good idea anyway, something to keep for the fans.

Whats the name of that spanish club that wrote the name of every person who bought a season ticket on their jersey really small so from far it looked like a patern but up close you could read the names. That's a great idea, but probably one for the smaller clubs :)

Football players, coaches, and fans will be there, so I would say yes, it is a football event. It's as much of a "football event" for newsworthy purposes as an FA / FAI Cup draw, for example.
