Remove Paint from Red Brick

I'm having a problem removing two layers of paint from the red bricks around my windows.

The top layer isn't too much of a problem - it is white masonry paint that is mostly coming off using Nitromors, scraper, wire brush & lots of elbow-grease. However, I'm not having much luck with the paint in the joints between the bricks.

Also, underneath the white paint there's a second layer of red paint (possibly acrylic?) that just won't shift.

Any suggestions on how best to clean the bricks from here? Any other recommended chemical removers or would sand-blasting be the way to go? If sand-blasting - any experience of contractors (North Dublin/Fingal)?
