Might be a little cheaper but I would say only if you get them fitted there. There's a place just about 30 foot before the right turn into The Quays Shopping Centre (Sainsburys) when you are coming into the town from the South, you can't miss it, not sure what the prices are like but from the signage outside they seem to sell most brands of tyres and alloys. There's also a large car accessories shop accross the road from B&Q also, not sure if this sells tyres though.

Tell us how you get on, might be worth it when doing some shopping, will save the hassle of finding a parking space :D

They are cheaper in the North, but IMO it's only worth it if you're buying an expensive set of tyres.... pirelli rosso or something.

Sometimes it's difficult to make exact price comparisons as not all brands are available in both the North and the South. Last time I bought tyres in the south (Continental EcoContacts) it worked out slightly cheaper than had I bought them the North at the time, but the prices do fluctuate. In the North I always use ATS, they do a good job without damaging the wheels or sills, are willing to discount and fix any punctures I get for free.
