Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You know it bugs me somethiing unreal when I hear Man United and Liverpool fans from Ireland say that, ever wonder why the majority of Man U and Liverpool fans started supporting their clubs, I doubt they would be supporting if they had had no success in the last 20 years:rolleyes:

According to some Liverpool hav'nt had any success in the last 20 years - okay 15! Most Pool fans here are, I guess, post Golden Era in terms of age but they are still fans. Unles they are all ancient mariners like me.

Would love to think we will gain ground on Chelsea but i don't think we have the quality to over take them, Suspect Arsenal to have a good year but I think they are on par with Liverpool wouldn't be surprised if both home and away games end in draws, Spurs look good but carracks a big loss they won't be an easy team to beat, as usual Man U will defiantly be up there I suspect we can beat them in Anfield though and they could do us over in Old Trafford

I think you have the wrong Diarra.

I suspect you haven't seen too much of this lad and he's
a player who will get more chances in the Makelele role
this season as Maka is not getting any younger and Diarra
is a young player who Mourinho rates very highly. And as
the caption states Breakthrough Player I think this
might be his season. Top class player for the future IMO.

I think United will have enough fire power to finish ahead of pool, Arsenal and spurs but i dont see anyone catching Chelsea this year. The class they have brought in coupled with Mourinho's organisation will make them ultra consistent this year.

    1st - Chelsea 90 +40

    2nd - Liverpool 80 +30
    2nd - Man United 80 +30

    Predictions

    Team: Liverpool
    Optimistic: Champions
    Realistic Position: 2nd
Most Important Player: Stevie G - critical he doesnt get peeved with being played as a utiilty man - right, left, up-front - then taken off because he's having an underpar game
Breakthrough Player: Momo to stop giving the ball away and to start scoring and become a top midfielder
Best Signing: Hard to call between Bellamy and Pennant. Pennant's probably the safer bet as Craig might get peeved with being played up on his own and getting no support and with getting rotated.
Hope I'm wrong: Gonzalez to be a big disappointment

Not with Celtic anyway. I just have memories of Celtic going out in European ties playing poorly but after a MON half time team talk they'd go out and play the likes of Milan off the park. :) Anderlecht and Lyon were destroyed at Celtic park through passing football.

    Arsenal

    Optimistic position: 2nd
    Realistic: 3rd/4th

    Arsenal

    First few same as RwC

    Breakthrough player: Johan Djourou
Best signing: No choice with senior signings, Fran Merida looks a good 'un for the reserves though.

Maybe 9th is optimistic, but we came 11th last season without playing well, and the team has improved therefore.....................realistic? pessimistic? I'm too biased to know!

Lemlin, you're underselling your team. While 5th is proberly the best possible I'd be amazed if they don't finish top 8.

    Realistic Position: top 10
    Most Important Player: Arteta
Breakthrough Player: Anichebe (Scoring goals for fun in the reserves last season and scored a cracker on the last day against west brom for the first team. He'll be a good striker to bring on as a sub i think. Has potential to score goals)
Best Signing: Andy Johnson (Good to see Everton spending the money. Johnson can score goals. Its what we needed.)

I prefer to be pessimistic TBH when it comes to Blackburn. Anything in the top ten and I'll be happy. Bellamy is a big loss and the UEFA Cup will stretch the squad to the max. I think it will affect Rovers' Premiership form but a good run in Europe, for once, would be nice.
