mmmmm, probably neither. I was always a Saab fan (YES, I know, its a chore); but only 2nd hand, and especially only the Vector or Aero models. Someone else can take the 2 year 40% hit on the depresiation ;)

By the way, they bare little in common with the woeful vectra (drove a rented one once). its the chassis only. platform sharing, they're all at it.

The mondeo is quite a nice drive. I had a love affair with a 130bhp TDCI. it had a sharpness that the Passat can't match. That said, the interior isn't particularly nice, and although they've aped VW with square switches etc. but it just doesn't feel as solid.

The 04 facelift made a big improvment. The pre-facelift design reminded me of fisher price toys.

I thought the 04 facelift was quite subtle, most of the interior remained. Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't it just consist of new radio, clock, climate control etc. on the interior?

Haven't Driven the Saab, But do have a new Model Passat Comfortline in 2.0 Tdi spec.
Good Car have 50,000Kms on it since February. Very comfortable. Plenty of power. Good Fuel economy even when being moved along.
Any Questions regarding It give me a shout.

Have you considered an Avensis D-4D?

If you love the Ford and fancy the solidness of the VW, how can you force yourself to go back to selling a Toyota? ;)
