    Streetballireland.com All Star Game & National Slam Dunk Championship's 2006 in Association with AND1

    The Streetballireland.com All Star Game 2006 is taking place on Friday the 18th of August 2006 in the Oblate Sports Hall Inchicore @ 7.00 PM. The event is brought to you in association with AND1 Ireland and all proceeds are in Aid of Brainwave, the Irish Epilepsy Association.


    The Game will be preceeded by the Irish National slam Dunk Championships.This is open to anybody to enter. Each Dunker will have three first round dunks. The two players that recieve the highest score will proceed to the final where they will face off by completing five dunks each. The winner will be crowned Ireland's best dunker and recieve a prize courtsey of AND1 Ireland. This years competition promises to be one not to miss with entrants already including Conor Ahenert, Kelvin Troy Jnr. and Phil Taylor.     Following the National Slam Dunk contest will be the All Star Game. Competing in this years game will be most of last years players and some exciting new additions. It will be a mix of some of Irleands premier players and hotest tallent with a number of Nivea for Mens Superleague All Star's taking part. Its going to be an action packed game full of excitment.To complement the game on the night there will be a live DJ and MC for the game.

    Id like to thank Colin O Reilly and Paul Cummings too. Paul and Colin were due to participate in this years All Star Game unfortunatly both players are unable to compete due to Paul having to return to Lafayette for pre - season training and Colin signing a professional contract with Essen of Germany. Best of luck with your seasons lads your both doing Irish Basketball proud!

    All proceeds from this years All Star Game go in aid of Brainwave the Irish Epilepsy Association.Brainwave was established in 1967 by a group of individuals concerned to improve the quality of life of people with epilepsy in Ireland.     I doubt Ronan will be playing after the injury he picked up and Mayo being involved in a replay. Hope the fella is ok, being stretchered off is not a good thing!
