Anyone ever bought one of those small tranmitter thing's do they really work?

Which would be a good one say if I wanted to leave in a room then go up to bed and listen to what people in the room are saying?

Well, let's just say a 'friend' uses them in the line of his business.

You can get transmitters hidden in double-adaptors. Although you can buy VHF versions, my friend maintains that for the best results you'll be paying €500 plus for the UHF version as the mains current does interfere with the VHF signal.

You can also buy the same as the above, but concealed in a socket-splitting phone-adaptor so you can evesdrop on phone conversations.

The ultimate however is the 'infinity bug'. Basically a modded regular cellphone that you can leave in a room. You dial the phone and the phone won't appear to be receiving a call, but will automatically answer and let you evesdrop on what ever is going on in the room sound-wise.

My friend would also like to stipulate that the operation and importation of such devices is completely illegal in Ireland and the UK.

Yeah that's why im asking seen them phones on a website for about 200 or something then I seen them on ebay for 30  the guy say's it's the real deal you can ring the phone and you will hear whatever goes on.

You can also buy small transmitters all you do is plug a battery into them and get the reciever!
