Can a 360 be made multi-region ?

    Just wondering if you can get a 360 modded to play US games as I got given a few titles by a mate who lives in the US.

    Nope not yet, probably be a long long while before that. Some games are region free already, think call of duty ntsc is one but not sure.

    You can flash ur xbox 360 dvd drive to play backup games , so I presume they will allow you to play multi region games / movies.

    On a personal note , don't do it if you use xbox live, as at some point MS will release a patch that detects this mod and ban you from live.

    that hack has nothing to do with region coding, region coding isnt in the dvd drive firmware, its somewhere else in the 360 and until the 360 is completely hacked like the first xbox, you wont be playing ntsc regioned coded games on a pal 360 and vice versa.

    anyways all this talk of backups is gonna get all these threads locked
