Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey
I was wondering if I got a dvd player with 5.1 Output and 5.1 set of speakers of two different makes would they work together. The dvd player is a ORBBIT DV-513 and the speakers are part of the JVC TH-A35R system.

    Cheers

i think this is the wrong forums for this, im sure there is a hi-fi forum somewhere here. but from my limited knowledge i would say you need a amp to go with it, or some type of splitter

The JVC link is to a system with an amp and speakers ,

The DVD link , quite possible one of the cheapest DVD players out there , is just a DVD player.

So , if you are asking will the speakers on their own work with the DVD player , then no , they wont , you need the amp. ( or any amp that will match the speakers )

If you are asking will the DVD player in the link work with the entire JVC package in the link then yes , it will.

In most cases , for 5.1 output , a standard DVD player must be connected to an amp , which drives 5-6 speakers.

Sometimes the DVD is built into the amp along with a reciever , but there must be an amp in the line somewhere.

Standard DVD players output line level and dont have amps.
