Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Nice friends eh.

whatever they said or whatever prompted them to say it pay no heed, some people are just inconsiderate and others are just sensitive.

laughter is the best medicine hope this brings a smile to your face although its an old one!!

20 WAYS TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY LEVEL OF INSANITY

    1. At lunch time, sit in your parked car with
sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars.
    See if they slow down.

    2. Page yourself over the intercom. Don't disguise
    your voice.

    3. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask
if they want fries with that.

    4. Put your garbage can on your desk and label it
    "IN".

    5. Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once
everyone has gotten over their caffeine addictions,
    switch to espresso.

    6. In the memo field of all your checks, write "for
    smuggling diamonds".

    7. Finish all your sentences with "in accordance
    with the prophecy".

    8. Don't use any punctuation.

    9. As often as possible, skip rather than walk.

    10. Order a Diet Water whenever you go out to eat -
    with a serious face.

    11. Specify that your drive-through order is "to
    go".

    12. Sing along at the opera.

    13. Put mosquito netting around your work area and
play tropical sounds all day at work.

    14. Go to a poetry recital and ask why the poems
    don't rhyme.

    15. Five days in advance, tell your friends you
can't attend their party because you're not in the
    mood.

    16. Have your coworkers address you by your
    wrestling name, Rock Bottom.

    17. When the money comes out the ATM, scream "I won!
    I won!"

    18. When leaving the zoo, start running towards the
parking lot yelling, "run for your lives, they're
    loose!!"

    19. Tell your children over dinner "due to the
economy, we are going to have to let one of you go."

    20. And the final way to keep a healthy level of
insanity . . e-mail this to someone to make them smile
    and laugh. Its called therapy!

As long as you make your happiness or self confidence dependent on circumstances and situations outside your control you'll always be subject to swings like this.

I've some resources on how to boost your self confidence. PM me your email if you'd like them.

As you've hinted yourself they aren't true friends.
Pay no heed to them, as Colm said you have to be happy with yourself and not relying on others opinions of you to keep self esteem high.

You're probably a great person you just need that wee bit of self confidence to see it in yourself.

People need things to look forward to to keep happy I think. Book a little break away or ring some friends who you haven't spoke to in a while and go playing pitch and putt or bowling or a drink or whatever. It will perk you up.

Things like this happen I'm afraid OP, people will let you down but there are some nice ones still around. Just ignore them.

Care to share what was said?
Did they have a point or were they just being assholes?

My friends said some cruel things to me last wkend aswell (about a choice of guy in my life at the moment)that upset me but they're still my true friends. true friends arnt afraid to say anything, they try and protect you and let you see the truth you mitent be able to see. sometimes i get soo angry because--why is their opinion the right one but then again i might be blinkered....it all depends if they were tryin to help you or just being cruel because they're mean. really think about what they were saying to you.
