Problem with Prestige 660HW-61

    I have ESAT BT broadband and this is the modem they gave me

    On my desktop im using a Ralink wireless card and it works fine but My laptop cant connect to the internet. It picks up the wireless network but gets an error saying limited or no connectivity

    Any idea why?

    There is probably Encryption set on the wireless Router. You will need to log in to the router and search for wireless settings where you should be able to find the encryption key.

    Ok then it's your TCP/IP settings. Check if DHCP is turned on on the router. if it isn't then either turn it on or set up an address manually on your laptop in the same range as the router i.e. if it's 192.168.1.1 then set your laptop to something like 192.168.1.20, the subnet will most likely be 255.255.255.0 and set the gateway to that of the router. in the DNS section you can probably use the router again (most of them forward DNS requests)

    Did that, but still no joY! it doesnt give the limited or no error anymore but I still cant load up any webpages or anything

    Try to ping the Router from the Laptop. If you get a reply then you need to change the DNS settings on your PC.

    The BT DNS Servers are:
    194.125.2.240 and 194.125.2.241
